The CDS series has a parallelogram staircase attached to a towed chassis made of hollow sections. The height of the platform is adjustable in eight-centimetre intervals. The staircase is lifted by a hydraulic cylinder with an independent hydraulic circuit. The hydraulic pump drive can be powered manually (standard), electrically or with a petrol or diesel engine or their combination. The platform is secured in the selected height with mechanical stops which automatically lock in the holes of the telescopic supports. The platform is fitted with a moveable rubber edge allowing tight contact with the fuselage of the airplane and preventing its damage. The sides of the top platform are equipped with sliding rails which are fitted with rubber bumpers in the front. The front steered axle provides safe and easy handling. Wheels with steel rims and ball bearings are fitted with solid rubber tyres. The chassis is equipped with a parking brake actuated by lifting and locking the drawbar in the upright position. Support legs stabilize the staircase in the operational position. The treads and the platforms are covered with aluminium sheets and a slip-resistant finish. All steel sections of the frame are galvanized and coated with primer and a topcoat (shades according to RAL).
